Back and Forth

I have not been so great with my diet since I last posted. I gained some weight..lost some weight...ate really well, the pigged out.

I have decided to try the 811 diet the Douglas Graham has come up with.
The basics of the diet are that you eat 80% of your calories from fresh raw fruit, 10% from greens/veggies and 10% from fat.
http://foodnsport.com/

I was going to start today but I have alot of food that need to be eaten first...and I really want a greasy taco shop burrito...

I am going to start on Monday and try to stick to it until I move in 3 weeks.
I will post some photos in a few days for my before look and then try to be more consistent with adding posts on here to show my progress.

2 weeks raw

I have been on my mostly raw food diet for about 2 weeks now. So far I have lost about 8 pounds and I feel great.
The photos above are my before and after... the top one is after 2 weeks of highly raw. There is a slight difference in how I look.
I plan to be a little better with my diet for the next few weeks and see how things go.

I decided I was going to start eating some fancier raw foods and I tried a few recipes out over the weekend. You can see some of them on my website:
http://lesromack.com/RawRecipes.html

Ive got to do some work on the site and ad a few more recipes, but it works for now.

I also booked a studio to shoot my fitness videos. There should be some up on the site by the end of May. There are a few on the site now but they are not the greatest quality. http://lesromack.com/Video.html

Gotta go for now.
Here is a quick and easy recipe for raw lemon snack bars.
I bought a raw bar at Whole Foods yesterday and loved it, but I knew I could do better.
I hope you enjoy it..

1 c cashews
1 c almonds
3/4 c dates
zest 1 lemon
juice 1/2 lemon
2 TBS honey

throw it all in the food processor until its smooth and sticky
press it into a pan and throw it in the fridge for about 10 minutes to set then eat it up!

this is a great kids snack... add extra dates if you want to leave out honey

Finally Back On Track

It only took me 3 weeks to finally get back on track. I kept trying to get back on my raw foods diet, but I would only ever last until dinner and then I would go crazy.

This is my 3rd day of eating highly raw (75% or more raw) and I feel great.
I can already see a difference in the way I look.

Here is a quick rundown of what I ate Saturday and Sunday:

10 bananas
2 pineapples
1/2 bag frozen cherries
1 1/2 packages of fresh strawberries
1 red bell pepper
2 avocados
1/2 head of lettuce
2 tomatoes
4 dinner rolls
2 cups brown rice
2 cups white rice
1/2 cup butternut squash/zuchinni soup

Not too shabby...
Now that I look at it written down it seems like quite a bit of food.

I almost broke down yesterday when a friend sent me this link: http://thisiswhyyourefat.com/

As much as I hate to admit it...it made my mouth water.
I looked at every page 3 times!

I think I might try to make some crazy raw foods like the ones on that site... well maybe not quite like those..

Until then check out the free recipes on my website:
www.LesRomack.com
I'm still working on the recipes page, but there is quite a bit there now....enjoy!

I also found this video on youtube a while back about raw foods and diabetes
Check it out.... it will make you think twice about that deep fried twinky.

On Monday I go back to eating raw...until the feeding frenzy goes on...

I feel much better on raw foods and I need the extra energy to keep up with my crazy schedule lately..

7 days Raw

I decided a few days ago that I want to be Highly Raw instead on completely raw. I like bread WAY to much to stop eating it.
For the most part I have been raw, but I have cheated a few times. A cheat here and there are no big deal. Food is one of lifes greatest pleasures....so enjoy!

I finally got my before pictures back from the photographer and I have posted them on here.
I should be getting another set taken this week for comparison.

Yesterday I was wanting some roasted red pepper salad dressing so I made a raw version.
I was very easy and tastes great. I ate all of it yesterday!

1/2 cup raw almonds
1/2 cup raw cashews
1/2 an avacado
1 cup raw apple cider vinegar
1 cup olive oil...or sesame oil
2 teaspoons of cayenne pepper...or more if you like it spicey
1 red bell pepper
2 cloves of garlic
salt and pepper to taste

throw it all in the blender until smooth.

i hope you enjoy it!
