Things have finally settled down and I am getting used to this work thing.
I have been able to get back to my raw diet. I have been keeping it pretty simple lately ... lot's of fresh fruit and some salads...and unfortunately alot of junk food also...
My goal was to do the 80/10/10 diet but i have not been able to stick to it. Now my goal is just to be better with my diet and do as much raw as I can.. I don't need to stress myself out with this!
Today i made a raw banana custard pie and some squash rolls with guac and cultured veggies... both were great.
I had planned on photographing the pie but it ate it too quickly .
I stopped eating long enough to get a pic of a few of the squash rolls.
more to come soon!

Crazy
It's been a while since I posted. I have been going crazy with work lately and getting ready for a big move.
I am moving from San Diego to Maryland in just 10 days!.. I still have so much to do.
I have not been able to stick to my raw foods diet very well since so many people are taking me out to eat and say goodbye. Anyone who knows me knows that I am not one to turn down a meal...especially a free one!
Alot of people have been asking me what I eat in a typical day.
Lately nothing in my life has been typical so it's hard to say.
Usually I have about 7 or 8 bananas, a few apples, a head or two of some sort of greens, a few oranges, a few mangos and lately alot of steamed white rice with lentils.
I'll go into more detail later when things calm down, but for now I have to run!

Back and Forth
I have not been so great with my diet since I last posted. I gained some weight..lost some weight...ate really well, the pigged out.
I have decided to try the 811 diet the Douglas Graham has come up with.
The basics of the diet are that you eat 80% of your calories from fresh raw fruit, 10% from greens/veggies and 10% from fat.
http://foodnsport.com/
I was going to start today but I have alot of food that need to be eaten first...and I really want a greasy taco shop burrito...
I am going to start on Monday and try to stick to it until I move in 3 weeks.
I will post some photos in a few days for my before look and then try to be more consistent with adding posts on here to show my progress.

2 weeks raw

I have been on my mostly raw food diet for about 2 weeks now. So far I have lost about 8 pounds and I feel great.
The photos above are my before and after... the top one is after 2 weeks of highly raw. There is a slight difference in how I look.
I plan to be a little better with my diet for the next few weeks and see how things go.
I decided I was going to start eating some fancier raw foods and I tried a few recipes out over the weekend. You can see some of them on my website:
http://lesromack.com/RawRecipes.html
Ive got to do some work on the site and ad a few more recipes, but it works for now.
I also booked a studio to shoot my fitness videos. There should be some up on the site by the end of May. There are a few on the site now but they are not the greatest quality. http://lesromack.com/Video.html
Gotta go for now.
Here is a quick and easy recipe for raw lemon snack bars.
I bought a raw bar at Whole Foods yesterday and loved it, but I knew I could do better.
I hope you enjoy it..
1 c cashews
1 c almonds
3/4 c dates
zest 1 lemon
juice 1/2 lemon
2 TBS honey
throw it all in the food processor until its smooth and sticky
press it into a pan and throw it in the fridge for about 10 minutes to set then eat it up!
this is a great kids snack... add extra dates if you want to leave out honey

Finally Back On Track
It only took me 3 weeks to finally get back on track. I kept trying to get back on my raw foods diet, but I would only ever last until dinner and then I would go crazy.
This is my 3rd day of eating highly raw (75% or more raw) and I feel great.
I can already see a difference in the way I look.
Here is a quick rundown of what I ate Saturday and Sunday:
10 bananas
2 pineapples
1/2 bag frozen cherries
1 1/2 packages of fresh strawberries
1 red bell pepper
2 avocados
1/2 head of lettuce
2 tomatoes
4 dinner rolls
2 cups brown rice
2 cups white rice
1/2 cup butternut squash/zuchinni soup
Not too shabby...
Now that I look at it written down it seems like quite a bit of food.
I almost broke down yesterday when a friend sent me this link: http://thisiswhyyourefat.com/
As much as I hate to admit it...it made my mouth water.
I looked at every page 3 times!
I think I might try to make some crazy raw foods like the ones on that site... well maybe not quite like those..
Until then check out the free recipes on my website:
www.LesRomack.com
I'm still working on the recipes page, but there is quite a bit there now....enjoy!
I also found this video on youtube a while back about raw foods and diabetes
Check it out.... it will make you think twice about that deep fried twinky.
